Prescriptions

We no longer accept any prescription requests by telephone or email.  Instead, please use the Patient Access system or post your prescription slip using the box provided outside our main door.  Many thanks.

PRESCRIPTION CHARGE

The charge for NHS prescriptions is currently £9.65 per item. The charge for Prescription Prepayment Certificates (PPC) is; £30.25 for 3 months and £108.10 for 12 months.

You may order repeat prescriptions by handing in or posting the repeat prescription slip to the surgery.

Alternatively, you can order your repeat prescriptions online via the secure Patient Access website (see information and links below).

IMPORTANT

For patients wishing to start using an online, secure facility for repeat prescriptions, this is available via Patient Access and www.patient.co.uk (see below).

If you already have a log in for this facility to book appointments with us, this will now allow you to order repeat prescriptions as well.

If not, just come along to the surgery and one of our Receptionists will be able to arrange full access for you.  Please remember to bring proof of ID with you.

The dispensary will prepare your prescription for the doctor to check and sign. You need to allow 10 full working days (excluding weekends) and then you can collect the prescription from the surgery after 12:00 the following day.

NB:  We supply medication to all our patients who live more than one mile from a chemist.

PLEASE NOTE

We can only accept repeat prescription requests for items which have been previously agreed by the doctor to be suitable for repeat prescription ordering and for which you have not yet used up all your quota of issues before the doctor needs to review your medication. In these circumstances we shall usually be able to meet your request but sometimes there may be reasons why we cannot issue a repeat prescription for some or all of the items. The dispensary will explain when you call to collect the prescription.
